The Mark C. Studenic Scholarship was established by the Marietta Morning Rotary Club in May 2009 for the purpose of providing annual merit based scholarships to Washington County residents pursuing a post-secondary degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. The award is for $500 and is renewable for up to three years, provided that the student maintains a 3.0 GPA. The scholarship was established to honor the life and work of Mark C. Studenic. 

Mark was a graduate of Copley High School, Class of 1980, and the University of Akron in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering where he was a member of Lamda Chi Alpha. He was employed by American Electric Power, Muskingum River Plant, where he held various positions until March, 2007, when he was appointed Plant Manager. He was a member of Marietta Morning Rotary Club, where he was a former president. He was a strong leader and devoted son, husband and father, always putting his family first. He had many hobbies including gardening, golf, camping, playing cards, the outdoors and animals. He loved is family and friends and was a devoted Rotarian. It was because of his dedication to the Morning Rotary Club and the community that this scholarship was established.
