Discovery Garden is the cornerstone to the entrance of old Marietta and the Marietta College campus at the corner of 7th street and Pike Street, one of the busiest intersections in town.  In 1992, the Marietta Morning Rotary Club and Marietta-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau planted Discovery Garden as a way to honor the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America.  Charlie Schob, the first club president, established this garden to welcome visitors to the City of Marietta and Marietta College.  The garden was recently re-dedicated to honor Charlie’s legacy of honest hard work, goodwill, and friendship. Longtime Rotarian, David Haas, states “Service to the garden by Morning Rotarians continues to this day as great care is taken to ensure it remains forever an iconic image of Marietta.”
